It is the policy of ISD Scotland to make its web sites and products accessible according to published guidelines.
WAI compliance
The ISD webite was tested and validated as HTML 4.01 Transitional on the 7th May 2004, using the W3C and Web Design Group validators, with CSS compliance. It attained conformance level WAI 'A', using Bobby 5.00.6.3 and by subsequent manual checking indicating that it satisfies all Priority 1 checkpoints.
In September 2006 the site attained conformance level WAI 'AA' following a redesign of our site templates and some considerable work in adjusting the content on our web pages.
ISD is continuing to progress towards 'AAA' compliance.
W3C validation
On February 26 2008 the stylesheets used by this website were validated by the WC3 Validation Service.
